A Business Consultant, Mr Steve Olayinka, on Friday in Lagos, urged youths to develop themselves through skill acquisition and business entrepreneurship.

Olayinka, who is the author of “Tale of Blacksmith”, said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the youth should also try to discover themselves and be disciplined.

The author, who spoke at the sideline of the presentation of his book; Tale of a Blacksmith“ noted that the book is a motivation for the youth to embark on legitimate means of making money, as well as embarking on entrepreneurship.

According to him, the motivation behind writing the book is to encourage the youth to rediscover themselves, find out possibilities and be encouraged to move ahead.

“The novel depicts the reality in our contemporary time, to be able to challenge people to raise the bar of their life.

“It is a contemporary story that could be attributed to the reality of our days.

“The moral lesson behind the book is that there is a legitimate way of bailing oneself out of trouble.

“My advice is you are blacksmith, fashion your life the way you want and not living the life you find yourself because you have a choice,’’ he said.

He said that the book was an encouragement for added skills, especially for those into daily jobs that can radically change the course of our lives.

According to him, “a lot of things happen that make it impossible for us to achieve our goals, but the novel tells us that it is doable”.

He said that life does not come to one on a platter of gold, adding; “life comes disguised as tragedies, disguised as difficulties and problems, just remove the garment and you see the huge opportunity associated.”

Olayinka also encouraged writers to be mindful of the youths when writing their books and write in language that appeals to them.  (NAN)
