Association hails Tinubu’s appointment of Ja’afaru Isa to National Almajiri Commission

The association Masu Karatun Allo Na Tsanganya Nigeria has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appointment of a new leadership of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children’s Education.

This is contained in a statement by Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi, the National Chairman of the association, on Thursday in Bauchi.

Tinubu appointed Brig.-Gen. Lawal Ja’afaru Isa (rtd) as the Chairman of the Board of the Commission, while Dr. Idris Muhammad Sani would serve as the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Commission.

Abdullahi said the gesture was a clear demonstration of President Tinubu’s disposition to reinvigorate the teaching of the Holy Qur’an as well as address the plight of the Tsangaya school and improve the wellbeing of the Almajiri.

“Lawal Jafaru Isa is an astute educationist and administrator with a proven track record in his career, as well as the military administrator of Kaduna State.

“His appoinment could be ascribed to the “best decision” taken by President Tinubu to holistically bring sustainable development to Qur’anic teaching and learning, ensure the ensure the welfare of Alarammomi (teachers), and ensure access to quality education for Almajiri and out-of-school children,” he said.

While congratulating the new leadership, Abdullahi urged them to run an open-door policy and engage Tsangaya organisations to fast-track successful implementation of the program to facilitate sustainable development in the sector. (NAN)
