The Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe ,has assured religious organizations of the state government’s willingness to work with them in contributing to the development of the state.
Akabe gave the assurance when he received the newly-elected state officials of the Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN) in his office in Lafia on Wednesday.
The deputy governor, who congratulated the elected officials, urged them to join the government in ensuring peace, progress and stability in the state.
He also appealed to them to be united in the discharge of their assignment in the state, adding that it was through unity they could become enviable to others.
He also said that it was imperative for them to extend their hands of fellowship to other religious organizations in the state.
Akabe, who pledged his support to the association, enjoined them to always work for peace and unity in Nigeria.
Speaking earlier, the state ‘s CAN Chairman , Very Reverend (Dr) Sunday Ema said that the visit was to introduce themselves to the deputy governor.
Ema said that the visit was also to seek the deputy governor’s support for their inauguration slated for Nov. 20 in Lafia. (NAN)
