A chief in Ogun , Chief Ganiyu Egunjobi, has urged residents of the state and Nigerians in general , to vote en masse for All Progressive Congress(APC)presidential candidate, Sen. Bola Tinubu, in the general elections.
Egunjobi ,Otun of Egbaland,gave the charge in a statement signed by Mr Rotimi Sulaiman ,his media aide ,on Thursday.
Egunjobi,also Chairman ,Agege Local Government Area of Lagos State,described Tinubu as the best man for presidency ,saying he would not disappoint, if elected
He urged Nigerians not to fall for what he called the deceit of the main opposition party,Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP),saying the party brought woes upon the country during their 16 years in power.
“Nigeria was in a wrong hand for 16 years under the PDP. Their administration was characterised by maladministration, incompetence and corruption.
“The country’s present struggling condition is the consequence of PDP’s 16 years of misrule”,he said.
Egunjobi said under the watch of PDP , Nigeria was in the woods,and that meaningful development eluded the country.
He said President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration had been able to steady the country’s ship, and had put the country on the path of progress.
He said Buhari had scored high marks in many ways, particularly, infrastructure, with his signature rail transport project and rice revolution.
“No doubt, we are still battling the hang-over of PDP 16 years of misrule, so it would be foolhardy to elect the party again.
“In about eight years of APC, we have made remarkable progress. It makes good sense to vote en masse for Tinubu, a messiah of a sort, who has a record of performance, in both private and public sectors.
“His achievements in Lagos as governor and emeritus governor speak volumes .” he said.
He said the massive turnout of Ogun residents at the APC presidential rally was a sign that Tinubu is the man of the people and will emerge victorious at the polls.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Tinubu and APC Vice -Presidential candidate ,Kassim Shettima,were at the rally held at the MKO International Stadium ,Abeokuta on Wednesday , to woo residents ahead of the elections. (NAN)
