Mr Hilary Bisong, Deputy Leader, Cross River House of Assembly on Thursday in Boki, said that the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state had birthed a future for young leaders.

Bisong, who currently represents Boki 2 State Constituency, and the candidate for Boki 2 in the 2023 polls, said this at a campaign rally in Ogep Ward, Boki Local Government Area.

He noted that all the candidates of the APC in the state were young people who had the drive and conviction to make things right for their constituents.

According to him, while the opposition party was recycling their candidates in the state, the APC gave their tickets to younger candidates who are widely accepted by the people.

“Gov. Ben Ayade’s defection to APC opened a new chapter for the youth in politics in Cross River. Today, more than 80 per cent of the state executive council and other appointees are youths.

“While the opposition is recycling candidates who have been in office since 1999 with no meaningful impact, APC is coming on board with fresh and young people who are passionate about doings things differently.

“I urge you, the good people of Ogep Ward, to come out en mass and vote for all the APC candidates in the state.

“Gov. Ayade in his wisdom identified and appointed thousands of youths into his government, we must not fail him, we must elect the youth to represent us,” he said.

The Deputy Leader also asked the people of Ogep Ward to vote massively for the APC governorship candidate in the state, Sen. Bassey Otu.

He explained that the state had been practicing rotational governorship since 1999, adding that 2023 was the turn of the South to produce the next governor.

Similarly, Mr Kelvin Njong, Chapter Chairman of APC in Boki Local Government Area, called on the people to vote for all the candidates of the party during the polls.

In the same vain, the Chairman of Boki Local Government Area, Mr John Ewa, said that the candidates of the APC from the area would attract development to Boki if voted into office. (NAN)
