President Bola Tinubu has announced key appointments for executive directors at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). Both agencies fall under the purview of the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.
Ms. Vivian C. Richard Edet has been appointed as the Executive Director of Finance and Administration for the Nigerian Ports Authority, while Engr. Olalekan Badmus will serve as the Executive Director of Marine and Operations. Engr. Ibrahim Abba Umar has been assigned the role of Executive Director of Engineering and Technical Services.
Simultaneously, for the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Mr. Jibril Abba is named as the Executive Director of Maritime Labour and Cabotage Services, Mr. Chudi Offodile assumes the position of Executive Director of Finance and Administration, and Engr. Fatai Taye Adeyemi is appointed as the Executive Director of Operations.
A statement released on Thursday by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, noted that President Tinubu approved these appointments based on a thorough assessment of the appointees’ impressive profiles. The President expressed confidence that the newly appointed executives will swiftly and effectively carry out their collective mandate to enhance the Marine and Blue Economy Sector’s contribution to the nation’s GDP.
