Abidjan, Jan. 23, 2024 (NAN) The Super Eagles of Nigeria will clash with Cameroon in the Round of 16 at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire on Saturday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the three-time champions, who finished second in Group A with 7 points, will face Cameroon, who also finished second in Group C with 4 points after defeating Gambia 3-2 in a pulsating game on Tuesday.
Guinea, who needed a draw in their game against defending champions Senegal, lost by 2-0 to drop to 3rd with 4 points.
The Super Eagles reached the Round of 16 after defeating Guinea-Bissau by a single goal on Monday.
The last time both the Super Eagles and the Indomitable Lions met at the same stage in the 2019 AFCON in Egypt, the Super Eagles won 2-1.
The titanic clash between Nigeria and Cameron is slated for the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on Saturday at 8 p.m. (local time). (NAN)
