Lagos, Feb. 27, 2026 (NAN) Nigeria’s expanding Afrobeats influence is strengthening the reputation of Lagos as a leading cultural tourism destination in Africa.

Tour operators say international fans increasingly visit the city to attend concerts, explore nightlife and experience the creative environment associated with Nigerian music stars.

An entertainment promoter, Mrs Kemi Salako, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lagos that global tours by artistes such as Burna Boy and Ayra Starr had amplified global curiosity about Lagos.

She said major concerts and music festivals were significant contributors to hotel occupancy, transportation services and nightlife revenue.

According to her, data released in recent years by global streaming platform, Spotify, shows that Nigerian music exports have recorded substantial growth, increasing international engagement.

“The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has continued to position music events as strategic tools for destination marketing.”

She,however, said sustained investment in infrastructure and security will further enhance the state’s competitiveness within Africa’s cultural tourism market.
