General Manager of Ondo State Sports Council (OSSC), Henry Babatunde, says the state sports complex in Akure is ready to host Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matches.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Sunshine Stars FC have been playing their home matches at Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode, Ogun.
Babatunde stated this in an interview with newsmen after inspecting the level of repair work done at the stadium.
He noted that the council, in collaboration with Sunshine Stars FC management, had carried out some repairs, as demanded by League Management Company (LMC).
The general manager said that with the completion of the repairs, the team could now return to play their home games in Akure.
“Authoritatively, I can say that the stadium is now ready. We have been able to do a number of repairs and I want to say that Sunshine Stars FC can now come back home, when proper inspection is carried out.
“We are hopeful that with what we have done, the stadium is in order and we can now use it for the league,” Babatunde said. (NAN).
