Ibadan, Feb. 18, 2026 (NAN) An Aluminium vendor, Seun Sojobi, 45, on Wednesday, was arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, over alleged N1.6 million fraud.
Sojobi, who was charged with obtaining money on false pretenses, cheating and conduct likely to cause the breach of peace, pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Insp Adeshina Folaranmi told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offences sometime in 2024, at Elebu area, Ibadan.
He said that the defendant obtained N1.6 million from one Mrs Felicia Muidibi on the pretext of fixing some aluminium works for her.
The prosecutor said that after obtaining the money, the defendant reneged on the agreement and failed to refund the amount until date.
Folaranmi said that the offences contravened provisions of Sections 249(d) and 419 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Oluwabusayo Osho granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 and two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until April 27, for hearing. (NAN)
