Lawal said, ”One of my campaign promises was to complete the airport so that we will join our sister states in the country.
“I believe the airport project is necessary in this state and if completed, it will enhance economic activities of the state.
“All the necessary arrangements have been made by this government to make the airport project a reality.”
Dauda said that the heavy financial liabilities inherited by his administration would not deter him from providing various developmental projects to the citizens.
“We have initiated various projects under urban renewal policy to provide infrastructural development,” Lawal said.
The governor added that his administration inherited over N13 billion liabilities of pension and gratuities from the previous governments in the state.
“From the inception of my administration to date, I settled over N5 billion pension and gratuity backlog.
“God’s willing, I will make sure all retired civil servants get their gratuity and pension backlog,” he added.
The governor further stated that his administration would remain committed to promoting the general welfare of the civil servants and retirees in the state.
“We are committed to rescuing the state socially and economically.
“The issue of insecurity remains the top priority of my administration, in spite of the effort we are making administratively to complement the national security agencies.
Speaking earlier, the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Mukhtar Lugga, described the achievements of Lawal’s administration in one year as a ‘welcome development.’
