Another Explosion Rocks Kano, Northern Nigeria

Barely 24 hours after two suicide bombers hit facilities belonging to Airtel and MTN in Kano, another explosion Sunday night rocked a location close to a local pub in Agangara, Badawa District of the largest commercial city in northern Nigeria.

The explosion sent residents and patrons scampering for shelter.

Eyewitnesses said the bang was loud but Kano State Police commissioner, Ibrahim Idris told THEWILL the blast was courtesy of “a knock out dumped in a refuse bin.” He said his men have been deployed to the area, while assuring of the command’s preparedness to safe guard lives and properties during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

So far, there are no reports of casualties.

As at the time of filing this report no group has claimed responsibility for Saturday’s twin suicide attacks, where the two bombers were the only deaths recorded according to reports.
