Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria on Wednesday inaugurated its Egbeda Chapter in Lagos with a charge on members to continue maintaining the tenets of Islam at the mission.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the newly inaugurated Egbeda chapter became the 38th chapter of the Islamic mission in Lagos State.
NAN reports that the event was used to raise fund for the execution of the mission’s humanitarian works and support for its Summit University, Offa, Kwara State.
Speaking at the event, the National Chief Missioner, Ansar-Ud-Deen Society, Sheikh Imam Abdur-Rahman, said that the mission catered for the welfare, spiritual, moral value addition and education of members.
“As leaders assigned with duties of running the organization, the sustenance of the principles of the faith and that of the organization should be paramount in our daily actions and inactions.
“Having been chosen to lead this young chapter, you should see it as privilege to serve for you are like first among equals.
“Probity and good interpersonal relationship with faithful should be your guide at all times so that harmony and faithfulness should reign,” he said.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Alade Basir-Lawal, tasked the commissioned officers on sustainability of the organization’s goal.
Basir-Lawal said that the society was a nonprofit one and asked the officers to provide selfless service in order not to derail.
He said that the society was the pride of the Muslim faith in various humanitarian areas, especially in the provision of affordable and quality education.
He charged the new chapter officials to anchor their service on the tripod stand of Islam as established by Prophet Muhammad (PBOH), his disciples and the scriptures as guiding principle for them to remain focus in every facet.
NAN reports that the newly inaugurated Egbeda chapter officials were: Alhaji Kazeem Atanda (Chairman), Alhaji Abdulazeez Oresanya (Vice Chairman), Alhaji Abdul Wasiu-Olajede (Assistant Secretary), Alhaji Taofeek Abdulazeez (Finacial Secretary), Alhaji Abdulkareem Kehinde-Ibrahim (Treasurer), Alhaji Abdulhafiz Oshodi (Publicity Secretary) and Alhaji Kamorudeen Adegbega (Welfare Officer).
