The Nigerian Army’s 33 Artillery Brigade has announced its first range classification exercise for 2026 at the Shadawanka Small Arms Range, Bauchi State.
This is contained in a statement issued on Friday by Lt. Esther Fagbolagun, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations.
Fagbolagun said the exercise would hold from April 27 to April 30 between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily.
According to her, the exercise forms part of the brigade’s annual training programme to enhance troops’ proficiency in weapon handling and marksmanship.
“It will involve accurate shooting drills and test firing of personal weapons to assess operational readiness,” she said.
Fagbolagun warned residents of Shadawanka and neighboring communities to expect troop movements and intermittent gunfire during the exercise.
She, however, reassured the public that all necessary safety measures had been put in place.
“Members of the public should not panic but continue lawful activities, as the exercise poses no threat to lives and property,” she said.
Fagbolagun called for residents’ cooperation and urged stakeholders to help disseminate the information. (NAN)
