Badagry (Lagos State) Jan.17, 2026 (NAN) The Badagry Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BACCIMA) on Saturday, described the late Akran of Badagry, Aholu Menu Toyi 1, as a unifying force and custodian of tradition.

The President of BACCIMA, Alhaji Yahaya Idris, disclosed this during a condolence visit to the family and royal council in Akran Palace in Badagry, by executive of the chamber.

According to him, the demise of Akran is a profound loss, not only to the Royal Family and the people of Badagry Kingdom, but also to all institutions and communities that benefited from his wisdom and fatherly guidance.

“As Grand Patron of BACCIMA, Akran stood as a pillar of support, encouragement, and royal blessing to the Chamber and its members.

“He was a true custodian of culture and tradition, a unifying force, and a strong advocate for economic growth and community advancement.

“His reign was marked by humility, dignity, and a genuine concern for the progress and prosperity of Badagry,” he said.

Idris prayed that God grants his soul eternal rest, and comforts the Royal Family during this moment of grief.

In response, the first daughter of the late traditional ruler, Princess Adesola Akran-Oketunde, welcomed the team, and expressed gratitude for their visit.
