
Benin City will host the first phase of the Ardova Handball Premier in April 2024, Cosmos Chukwuemeka, the Media Assistant, Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN), said on Wednesday.
Chukwuemeka, in a statement in Lagos, also said that the two-week event would begin on April 28 and end on May 11 in Edo.
He said the event would be the biggest top-tier handball league in Nigeria.
Also, Mr. Almu Lambu, the Secretary-General of the HFN, urged the teams to ensure the conclusion of their players registration ahead of the league.
The Ardova Handball Premier League consists of 22 teams (12 male and 10 female) and runs in two phases.
The league, which is in its 7th season, is in its second year of sponsorship with Ardova PLC.
Niger United and Safety Babes are the defending champions in the male and female categories of the Ardova Handball Premier League 2023.(NAN)
