The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Cui Jianchun, says the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line will improve the efficiency of Lagos residents at work.
Jianchun spoke in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday, on the sideline of the Commissioning of the LRMT Blue Line at Marina, in Lagos.
He said that the mass rail would save much energy and reduce time of doing business.
“Time is money, efficiency is life.
“Today we really understand the meaning of time, we need to sustain the usage of time for a greater efficiency.
“This project has reflected the harmony and sympathies for both China and Nigeria
“We have great joy today, I find out that China and Nigeria have turned into a new era, and embarked on a new journey to build modern and social economy country.
“We are embarking on new infrastructure and also new era to develop our economies,” he said.
Jianchun said that the Chinese government would collaborate more with Nigeria and other African countries to build their infrastructure.
He said that Lagos residents would have better quality of life with the establishment of the Lagos rail line.
Jianchun said that China and Nigeria Government had set a good example to the entire African continent.
He said that the Chinese Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) was well established in Nigeria, having been in the country for 42 years.
This, he said, enabled the Lagos State Government to award the Second Phase of the Lagos Mass Transit Rail Line for Red to the company.
Also speaking the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said that the commissioning of both the Lekki Deep Sea Port and Lagos Rail Blue Line projects would create a viable economy and provide jobs for more people.
President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurated the LRMT Blue Line first phase on Tuesday, as part of activities during his two- day visit to Lagos .(NAN).
