President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday fired 20 Permanent Secretaries from the Civil Service of the Federation.
The affected Permanent Secretaries include those of Power, Petroleum, Finance, Defence, Housing, Transport and Urban Development and Special Duties.
Their retirement is a follow-up to the recent appointment of a new Head of Service, Mrs Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita who is their junior.
Buhari made the development known to the affected persons at a meeting he had with them inside the Presidential Villa on Tuesday.
They were led to the closed-door meeting by the acting Head of Service.
The exercise is coming about 24 hours before the inauguration of ministers.
