Chatham House Royal Institute of international affairsNigerian Professionals in the United Kingdom are being denied en masse from attending the lecture at the Chatam house, London, to be delivered by the All Progressives Congress [APC] flagbearer, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd).
One of those bared from attending the disproportionately over-bloated lecture is a London-based Lawyer and Publisher of Elombah.com, Mr Daniel Elombah.
His rejection came in the following tone:
“Dear Daniel, Thank you for contacting us regarding the event Prospects for Democratic Consolidation in Africa: Nigeria’s Transition with General Muhammadu Buhari, Presidential Candidate, All Progressives Congress, Nigeria, on Thursday 26th February.
Unfortunately your application to attend was not successful on this occasion.
We have received a very high level of interest for this event and it is fully subscribed.
If you are interested in following the event, you can watch it on our livestream: LIVE STREAM: Prospects for Democratic Consolidation in Africa: Nigeria’s Transition Thursday 26 February | 10:00 – 11:00.
General Muhammadu Buhari, Presidential Candidate, All Progressives Congress, Nigeria Chair: Sir Richard Gozney KCMG CVO KStJ, British High Commissioner to Nigeria (2004-07).
We are sorry for any disappointment and hope to see you at one of our Africa Programme events in the future.
Please note this event is full and there is no waiting list.
Anyone without a personalised e-ticket will not be admitted to Chatham House on the day”
Other Nigerians who were also denied access to the event are Mr Joe Attueyi and Maazi Tochukwu Ezeoke. They told elombah.com that their application to attend the event was also rejected.
Mr Joe Atueyi who could not hide his disappointment over the rejection wrote via Facebook:
“Folks, I told you they will fence me from attending the Chatham house speech!
Oh Well. The more things change the more they remain the same.”
It sounds ironic that fellow Nigerians who were supposed to be the root and stem of such event could be denied such a face-to face encounter with the would-be leader of their country.
In a related development, a writer, George Chinda, has raised dust over the supposed visit of General Buhari to former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair.
In a piece titled “How far can brazen lies and deceit travel?” Mr Chinda doubted the authencity of the supposed picture.
He wrote: After Governor Fayose busted the lies of APC in which a picture of Buhari granting interview in London with a pictorial evidence showing it was at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, they came up with the picture below
Gen-Buhari
Buhari’s legs in the picture “too short to be real

to say he had a meeting with former British PM Tony Blair in London just to continue covering their track of lies.
“However, a forensic peep into this picture applying anthropometrics clearly shows that his legs are not proportionate to his ties from the hip. Pa GMB is a tall man measuring over 6ft hence couldn’t have short legs that can pass for 5ft person. From the foregoing , it has shows that APC is a party steeped in the morass of lies and deceit to hoodwink the Nigeria public into voting it to power… Hence we must all work to reject them at the polls.”
With this development, rounded with the denial of Nigerians from attending the over-publicised Chatam House event, the real purpose of Buhari visit to London continues to be shrouded in more and more mystery.
