Esekhaigbe said Nigeria was also confronted with various security issues and challenges emanating from both external and internal threats as well as trans- border criminal activities.

“Your thorough research and clear writting is commendable, Nigerians look forward to reading your informative security reports.
“They are educational, informative, clear incisive analysis, complete, accurate, easy to understand with excellent background information,” he said.

“The management and staff of NAN are an incredibly hard worker, who deserve compliment, your willingness to continually step out of your comfort zone inspires us to do same.
“Your confidence on security reportage is infectious, you have delivered useful security tips to help guide Nigerians.
“Indeed NAN comprises a diverse and talented team of workers, researchers and subject matter experts equipped with data and insights to clearly show both sides.
“NAN has set itself apart from the pack, your media organisation is a game changer, pacesetter and a trailblaser on many fronts,” Esekhaigbe said.
He added that NAN brand of journalism was developmental, saying that the agency had served a higher purpose, which included ensuring the development, peace and unity of the country.
He pleged the center’s unalloyed support to the military and para-military agencies to effectively confront the country’s security challenges.
He noted that the country’s security personnel had in recent times successfully tackled criminals in all the geo-political zones and should be appreciated for their sacrifices to keep the country safe.
He sympathised with all the families that had been affected by the activities of terrorists, banditry, kidnapping, farmer/herders clashes, rustlers, brigandage, militancy and other heinous crimes.
“We owe a huge debt to our frontline security operatives, we are pleading for a national solidarity to honour frontline security operatives who are wounded.
“Reported missing in action and fallen heroes who lost their lives while defending lives and property, their sacrifices can never be forgotten.
“We all must demonstrate a unity of purpose and work collectively to wage and win the fight against insecurity; we don’t have a choice,”
