Centre engages association for hypertension awareness in Kano

 The GAMMUN Centre for Care and Development Nigeria (GCCDN)
organized a one-day quarterly meeting aimed at addressing critical issues surrounding hypertension responses in Kano.
The meeting was in collaboration with the Association of People Living with Hypertension in the state.
The Executive Director of the Center, Mr. Tulari Tine, expressed happiness about the collaboration, explaining the objectives of the engagement to include increasing awareness about hypertension, GAMMUM activities, and the Kano Hypertension Advocacy Initiatives (KHAI), among others.
Other objectives are: to develop strategies for the release and utilisation of the 2025 budget for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and to develop a media engagement plan to promote the
center’s activities, leveraging various media channels to reach a wider audience.
Tine added that the GAMMUN Centre aimed to provide lasting solutions for people with hypertension through its quarterly immersion programs with key government officials.
He added that “by fostering collaboration and awareness, the center is poised to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals affected by hypertension in Nigeria.
“As emphasized in various studies, stakeholder engagement is crucial in promoting hypertension awareness and care.”
The executive director further said that the collaboration could lead to better health outcomes and improved quality of life for individuals affected by hypertension.
Some of the stakeholders who spoke at the event commended the center for the efforts and response to hypertension in the state. (NAN)
