Young people interested in coding will get the opportunity to be part of a six-week, online, immersive, entrepreneurial, creative and problem-solving bootcamp to build their coding capacity and proficiency.
An IT company, Derasoft Consulting, says it is partnering with Whistler Communications Limited to organise the bootcamp dubbed ‘#CodeCamp for Youths’.
A statement issued by the organisers explained that the #CodeCamp isn’t just about coding, but also about equipping young people with belief, ability and necessary leadership skills to be ahead of the pack in the future economy.
The Coronavirus lockdown has accelerated the shift towards digitally-focused careers and it has long been recognised as important that youths must start to understand the technology they will use in their work and daily lives.
The camp, which will begin on August 10,2020 and will feature fundamentals of IT leadership, working in a team, goal-setting, empathy, full stack web development, server set-up, HTML and CSS, PHP, AJAX, bootstrap and MySQl.
“Building young people’s digital skills is not just a nice-to-have, it’s a need-to-have. There’s still a lot of uncertainties out there, but one thing is for sure: digital skills are critical to help inspire and train the next generation of leaders, as well as equip young people of today with the tools for a more tech-forward future. We believe passionately in the value of keeping our young people coding, for today and the future, ” a statement from the organisers said.
According to the organisers, registration is only restricted to 25 people and registration per participant is N25,000, payable into the account ‘Derasoft Nigeria Ltd | Zenith Bank 1017405846’.
