The Commissioner for Women Affairs in Jigawa, Hajiya Hadiza Abdulwahab, has commended women in the state for their dedication and perseverance.
She made the commendation during the distribution of clothes and cash to some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Malam Madori local government area of the state on Monday.
“Women have become key actors in political spaces in the state. I must therefore commend your loyalty and resilience for standing by us and bringing us to power through your votes.
“Women endure every hardship and stand in long lines during elections to ensure they cast their votes.
“So it is absolutely mandatory for every government to recognise them and make sure they enjoy the fruit of their hard work when any party wins elections,” she said.
The commissioner urged the women to continue to support the APC.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Salma Abdullahi commended the commissioner for her kind gesture.
She pledged to continue supporting the APC.
