Mr. Jelili Suleiman, the Executive Chairman, Alimosho Local Government, Lagos State, has called on the council staff to be more committed to their work.

Suleiman said this at the final day of the Alimosho National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) week on Wednesday in Lagos.

He also urged them to embrace modern civil service rules in discharging their duties.

Suleiman said that the workforce need to change their attitude to reflect modern civil service, acceptable dress code, etiquette, official communication, professionalism, secrecy, coming early to work and closing at the official time.

“As government, we are doing everything possible to improve the working environment, through the provision of modern furniture, computer, transportation, welfare and others.

“We expect you to come to work regularly and be available to carry out the jobs that are assigned to you.

“With the celebration of NULGE week, a whole week was left for your pleasure, to relax, interact and merry, do exercises, engage in sporting activities, hoping that you will resume to your duty posts with renewed vigor,” he said.

The chairman said his administration was delighted to identify with NULGE and also celebrate with the entire workers of Alimosho Local Government.

He said the leadership of NULGE had an unhindered access to the government.

“We have done a lot to address many of the requests that are numerous to mention,” he said.

The chairman, however, advised the workers to be more diligent in discharging their duties as he presented award to deserving staff.

Mr. Rufaiyat Alejo, the NULGE Chairman in Alimosho Local Government, appreciated the council boss for taking time off his busy schedule to grace the occasion. (NAN)
