Sango-Ota (Ogun), July 28, 2025 (NAN) The Vice-Chancellor of Covenant University in Ota, Ogun, Prof. Timothy Anake, says governments at all levels should create an enabling environment for girls and women to actualise their potentials in the country.

Anake said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Ota, Ogun.

According to him, most countries hinge their development on women because they are regarded as the ones taking care of the family and ensuring that children are well cared for.

“Let the country celebrate the resilience, strengths, and achievements of women.

“In addition, let’s break barriers and challenges of stereotypes, empower the next generation, and work together towards a future where every woman and girl can thrive”, he said.

The vice-chancellor also said that creating a world of opportunities for girls and women would allow them to actualise their potentials.

Anake added that the ability of the governments to provide a conducive environment would also help to reduce the crime rate and social unrest in the country. (NAN)
