A member of the Cross River State House of Assembly representing, Hon Godwin Akwaji (PDP, Obudu), is dead.
Quick News Africa understands that Akwaji, who died at University of Calabar Teaching Hospital Isolation Centre, on Thursday, may have died from complications related to the novel Coronavirus.
Akwaji, sources said, had been treated for pneumonia and malaria, without any improvement.
Before his death, he was diabetic and had complained of fatigue, cough and constant restlessness.
According to this source, some of those who visited the deceased at the isolation centre have begun showing signs of the virus.
Cross River is the only state reportedly yet to have any case of Coronavirus, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
