Delta organises two-day validation workshop for heads of MDAs

Delta Government on Thursday started a two-day validation workshop for Directors of Planning, Research and Statistics (DPRS) in its Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

The workshop, organised by Delta Ministry of Economic Planning, aimed at validating the state’s 2024-2027 medium-term development plan.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that focal persons in the different MDAs were also present at the workshop.

In her remarks, the ministry’s Director of Planning and Economic Sector, Mrs Azuka Monye, said the workshop was borne out of the MDAs’ submissions in June.

According to her, the workshop is a follow-up on the development plans for 2016-2019 and 2020-2023.

Monye said the workshop was to clarify grey areas by providing additional information or corrections where necessary.

The consultant in charge of the workshop, Prof. Eric Eboh, told the focal persons they needed to be involved in the process since they were best positioned to oversee the development plan.

Eboh, former Chief Job Creation Officer of Delta Bureau for Job and Wealth Creation Office, expressed delight at their responses, stating that their collaboration and input had been impressive.

“We will interact with you based on what you submitted.

“We need to effectively interact with you to guide us accordingly because nobody can explain better than you.

“We want to have a medium-term development plan that every one of you across the MDAs can be proud to display on their table, for budgeting purposes, resource allocation and to market Delta State as a whole,” he said.

Eboh said 94 MDAs would be engaged in the process, just as he appreciated MDAs that made their submissions at the workshop. (NAN
