The managment of Diamond Bank Plc has debunked the allegations in some newspapers that the security operatives attached to the former MD/CEO of the bank, Alex Otti “were mopped up from various branches of Diamond Bank, especially in Lagos State”.
The financial institution was reacting to an Advertorial signed by a certian Hon. Osita Igbe, Director of Media and Publicity for Okezuo Abia Campaign Organisation.
The advertorial, entitled “Reckless Conduct of Alex Otti” and published on page 17 of Vanguard and page 37 of The Guardian of Tuesday, February 16, 2015 claimed that the security operatives attached to Alex Otti “were mopped up from various branches of Diamond Bank especially in Lagos State”.
Reacting to the claims, Head of Media Relations of the Bank, Ikechukwu Mike Omeife is a statement made available to Quick News Africa said since Otti resigned as the MD and CEO of the bank, he no longer had anything to do with the institution.
The statement reads:
“For the avoidance of doubt and to put the records straight, we state the following:-
“Dr. Alex Otti formally resigned as the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Diamond Bank Plc on Friday, October 24, 2014 to focus on his private life and since then, ceased to have any dealings with the Board and management of the bank.
