Don’t panic, Army urges residents, as exercise shining star commences 

The 1 Division Nigerian Army, Kaduna, is conducting final field training exercise code name “Exercise Shining Star Six” from Sept. 9 – 13.

The Acting Deputy Director, Public  Relations, 1 Division Nigeria Army, Lt-Col Musa Yahaya made the announcement in a statement issued on Thursday in Kaduna.
Yayaha urged residents in the surrounding areas not to panic and  continue with their normal daily activities.
He said 1 Division Training School would conduct its final field training exercise tagged: “Exercise Shining Star Six” within the School Training Area at Dalet Cantonment from Sept. 9 to 13.
According to him, the exercise is designed to assess participants’ shooting skills and physical fitness, in preparation for real-life battle scenarios.
He said the training would involve use of blank ammunition and pyrotechnics to simulate real-time combat conditions, both during the day and at night.
“During this period, residents and personnel within and around the Division Training School will observe tactical drills involving the firing of blank ammunition and pyrotechnics.
“Therefore, residents in the surrounding areas are advised not to panic and to continue with their normal daily activities.
“We urge the community to report any security breaches immediately to the 1 Division Headquarters.
“We sincerely apologize to the communities around Dalet Barracks and environs for any inconveniences and appreciate their cooperation and understanding during this critical training period,” he said. (NAN)
