A Jos Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday sentenced a 22-year-old driver , Managai Maran to nine months in prison for consuming and possessing illicit drugs.
The convict pleaded guilty to the charge of illegal possession and consumption of illicit substances brought against him by the Police.
The Magistrate, Mrs Irene Pati sentenced the convict to nine months in prison with an option of N50,000 fine.
While reviewing the facts, the Prosecutor, Ijuptil Thiawur, told the court that the case was reported on June 20, at the “C” Division Police Station by a team of officers on patrol.
Thiawur said the convict was found with 6 wraps of substance suspected to be marijuana and a bottle containing some illicit substance.
He said the offences contravened the Plateau Penal Code Law.(NAN).
