Edo 2020: Ize-Iyamu declared winner of APC primary

Former Secretary to the EDO State government, Osagie Ize-iyamu Osaro, will be the flag-bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the governorship election slated for Spetember in the state.

Ize-Iyamu was declared winner of the party’s primary which was held on Tuesday, garnering a total of 27838 votes to defeat Dr. Pius Odubu (3776 votes) and Hon. Osaro Obazee (2724 votes) came behind with total votes of 3776 and 2724.

The results were announced after the committee for the primary reconvened from a short recess.

Ize-Iyamu will face other aspirants from other parties – including the incumbent governor, Godwin Obaseki, who defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last Friday – in what is expected to be a show-down in September.
