The Edo Government has pledged stronger collaboration with the Association for Formidable Educational Development (AFED) to advance quality education across the state.
The state Deputy Governor, Dennis Idahosa, gave the assurance on Tuesday in Benin, when he received the leadership of the Edo chapter of the association during a courtesy visit.
Idahosa assured that the state government would continue to partner with private education providers to improve learning outcomes, acknowledging their role in expanding access to education.
He also assured the association that its request for government support would be presented to Gov. Monday Okpebholo for consideration.
“We will continue to collaborate with your association in providing quality education, and I will channel your request to my principal,” he said.
Earlier, the state Controller of AFED, Mr Olajide Ogundele, said the visit was to introduce the association’s new leadership and deepen its partnership with the government in promoting quality, accessible and affordable education.
Ogundele also appealed for government support, including the provision of a utility bus to facilitate school monitoring, stakeholder engagements and educational outreach across the 18 local government areas of the state.(NAN).
