An emergency meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) is in progress at the Council Chambers of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The meeting, which is being presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, began at 3.10pm.
The meeting is expected to discuss the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) of the 2016 budget.
The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, had told journalists at the weekend that the FEC would this week approve the MTEF.
