Enugu, Feb. 23, 2026 (NAN) An Enugu-based entertainment group known as “Funky4Gang” has advised upcoming music artistes to be focused, disciplined and humble in their pursuit of success, as talent alone is not enough for their growth.

The Chief Executive Officer of the group, Prince Osifu Osaro, popularly known as DJ Funky, gave the advice during Funky4Gang Entertainment Concert in Enugu on Monday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the concert, held at the Amadeo Event Centre in Enugu, brought together entertainers, influencers, record label executives and music lovers in what organizers described as a major platform for discovering new talents.

Osaro said, “You must stay humble, disciplined and consistent as humility can take you to places money cannot”.

He explained that the group organized the concert to showcase and empower upcoming artistes in the South-East, adding that it would also give emerging artistes in the zone the exposure and opportunities needed to advance their careers.

“This concert is about showcasing all the talents in Funky4Gang Entertainment and also upcoming artistes across the South-East. It is a big platform for them to express themselves and be seen,” he said.

Osaru explained that beyond entertainment, the programme also had an educative component targeted at Nigerian youths.

According to him, resource persons were invited to enlighten young people on the dangers of substance abuse and drug misuse.

“It is not just entertainment; it is also an educative programme. We want to advise the youth against drugs and other harmful substances. We believe entertainment can also be a tool for positive change,” he added.

On empowerment, the CEO noted that several record label owners and chief executives were expected at the concert to scout for promising talents.

“Many upcoming artistes struggle with financial challenges. Their dream is to get sponsorship or be signed to a record label. With top industry players present, lucky talents may secure deals that can change their careers,” he said.

Osaru called on government at all levels to support emerging artistes by creating more platforms for exposure and improving media reach in Enugu State.

“We need stronger media platforms that can project our talents beyond the state.

“In the past, stations like Cosmo FM helped artistes from Enugu gain national recognition. We need that kind of reach again,” he said.

He described the concert as the first major standalone event organized solely by Funky4Gang Entertainment, although the group had previously collaborated with top artistes on large-scale shows in the state.

The organization, he disclosed, comprised over 70 members, including DJs, hype men, media personalities, influencers and professionals in movie production and event management.

The Logistics Manager, Funky4Gang Entertainment and Event Coordinator, Donald Ogugua, popularly known as TNG, said the event was a vibrant mix of music, dance, and nightlife experiences featuring top artists and performers from across Nigeria.

“These artists including Perruzi, Evado, Highstala Visita, Zyno, Hugo P, Aguero Banks, DJ DelRhita, DJ Nips, Ak Smuth, Hypermam Mishap, MC Lord Ell, Emma Drumz, DJ Toski, Big Sharo and others,” he said.

Sponsors of the concert included the Enugu State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, XJet Enugu Air, D-Ben Real Estate Group, Sonance Multi media, Jydz Inc, Navitex Laundry and Dry Cleaning Services.

Others were Trapdoor Red Room, Volt Arena, STC Energy Solutions and The Republicans

NAN reports that thousands of youths especially from tertiary institutions across the South East, attended the concert.(NAN)
