Enugu Rangers dominate NPFL POTM awards for March 2024

The Technical Adviser of Rangers International F.C., Fidelis Ilechukwu, and two of his players, Godwin Obaje and Ejike Ugochukwu, are among the nominated coaches and players for the Nigerian Professional League NPFL Bloggers Award for March 2024.

This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the media officer of the Rangers, Norbert Okolie, in Enugu on Wednesday.

Ilechukwu, alongside three other coaches, including 3SC gaffer Gbenga Ogunbote, Kennedy Boboye of Sunshine Stars, and Umar Abdullahi of Akwa United, are the nominees for the prestigious award.

The Rangers gaffer led the flying antelopes to three consecutive wins and two draws, as they remained unbeaten while scoring seven goals in the month under review.

Ogunbote had secured three wins out of five matches played in the month, with seven goals scored, just as Boboye secured two wins out of four matches played with two draws, with Umar securing three wins from five matches, scoring nine goals.

The Rangers duo of Godwin Obaje and Ejike Ugochukwu would be slogging it out with the quartet of Adams Olamilekan of Remo Stars, Christian Pyagbara of 3SC, Nenrot Silas of Plateau United, and Sani Suleiman of Akwa United.

The winners of the prestigious award will be decided by a panel of Nigerian football experts, and the result will be announced on Friday, April 5.

This is the second straight month that Illechukwu, the young and vibrant Rangers’ technical adviser, will be nominated for the award, and he and his wards are on a 10-match unbeaten run. (NAN)
