Ibadan, Sept. 9, 2025 (NAN) The Chief Executive Officer of Fendini Group, Mr Laja Adeoye, says a feasible policy is imperative in addressing housing deficit in Nigeria.
Adeoye said this on Tuesday in Ibadan while speaking with newsmen on ways government could tackle housing deficit in urban areas.
He described the current housing policy as obsolete and called for pragmatic approaches and well-structured strategies to address the challenges effectively.
He highlighted the housing sector’s potential as a key driver for economic recovery, empowerment of citizens, and reduction of unemployment.
He called on all levels of government to collaborate with professional bodies, and research institutions to develop home-grown, efficient, and sustainable housing solutions.
He maintained that “it is essential to develop strategies that are tailored to Nigeria’s unique circumstances”.
He also advocated for increased encouragement and use of local building materials, noting that public acceptance had been hindered by widespread apathy toward these resources.
Adeoye, owner of Rayfield Gardens City Estate in Ibadan, commended the housing initiatives of the Oyo State Government.
He said the favourable housing initiatives of the state government gave him opportunity to develop the Rayfield Gardens City Estate.
“The state government has been instrumental in creating an enabling environment, and we are working tirelessly to meet project deadlines,” he said.
He reaffirmed his company’s commitment to delivering affordable luxury properties through its flagship project.
“We aimed at creating a distinct living experience, blending modern architecture with functional infrastructure, affordability and accessibility.
“The Rayfield Garden City Estate, spans 21 hectares of land and is located within Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala GRA, along the Ibadan-Iwo road,” he said.
He said the estate represented a strategic Public-Private Partnership between the Oyo State Government and Fendini Group, facilitated by the Oyo State Investment and Public-Private Partnership Agency (OYSIPA).
“The estate has witnessed a surge in construction activities, with hundreds of luxury duplexes and smart homes either completed and occupied or nearing completion,” Adeoye said. (NAN)
