Fury back in the ring for Wilder fight

Tyson Fury made his return to the squared-circle on Wednesday after spending months training in lockdown alongside his wife, Paris.

The Gypsy King showed no signs of ring rust as he showed off his speed and power during a session inside the Essex Fight Academy gym in Loughton.

Fury has made a conscious effort to maintain his fitness levels while in lockdown and has hosted daily morning workouts with his wife on Instagram since March.

Now the 31-year-old is back where he belongs – and Paris is still right beside him.

In a post on Instagram, Paris showed her support for her husband with a picture of her sat ringside during the Fury’s training session while he unleashed a flurry of combinations with his trainer.

The caption read: ‘Together we win. Always there. Been in gyms with @gypsyking101 from being 16. Either waiting around, training, training with each other or shouting at him to hurry up.’

The session marks the beginning of a journey back to facing Deontay Wilder, in what will be their third, and most likely final, bout.

Following Fury’s stunning victory inside seven rounds over Wilder in February, the heavyweight duo agreed to a second rematch to settle their feud once and for all, which was due to take place in July.

However, the outbreak of the coronavirus has put a stop to those plans, with the fight likely to take place in October instead.

While a fight with Wilder is next on the agenda for Fury, it didn’t stop the WBC champion from agreeing financial terms with Anthony Joshua over a future fight while in lockdown.

Fury and Joshua announced earlier this month that they will have two fights next year to determine who will be the undisputed heavyweight champion.

However, both will have to successfully overcome their upcoming opponents before they can face each other in a highly-anticipated ‘Battle of Britain’.
