Growth of MSMEs, real engine for Nigeria’s economy —- Gov Radda

Katsina, Oct. 21, 2025 (NAN) Gov. Dikko Radda of Katsina State has described the growth of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as the real engine for the Nigeria’s economy.
He stated this at the Ninth National Expanded MSMEs Clinic, which was performed by the Vice-President Kashim Shettima, on Tuesday in Katsina.
“The ninth expanded MSME clinic is not just another policy engagement.
“It is a national platform where ideas, opportunity, and partnership combats to drive one goal, the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises in Nigeria.
“The real engine for Nigeria’s economy,” he said
Radda revealed that the MSME clinic initiated under the leadership of the vice-president has become a powerful symbol of practical governance where government meets the people, listen to their challenges, and offers real-time solution.
“Here in Katsina, we are proud to host this important national event, the very first under our administration,” Radda said
He said that the government made the deliberate decision to make enterprise development a centre pillar of his administration.
“We established Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency, (KASEDA), under the leadership of Hajia Aisha Aminu and her team, as an institutional vehicle to drive entrepreneurship, innovation, investment.
“In just two years, I’m proud to say we have recorded significant milestone which includes supporting over 100,000 beneficiaries across the 34 local government with access to finance, access to market, business advisory services, and formalisation of businesses.
“We established a N5.5 billion MSME fund out of which, over N1 billion had so far been disposed to about 701 enterprises in the state.
“MSME census and cluster mapping completed to provide reliable data for planning and investment,” Radda said
The Director-General, KASEDA, Hajiya Aisha Aminu, said that the MSMEs clinic brought together over 500 people from exhibitors, participants, and agencies under one roof to solve real business problem.
She said that Katsina State was open for business and ready for investment.
“With your partnership, we will continue to empower thousands of entrepreneurs to create jobs, innovate and drive prosperity,” she said.
Shettima also inaugurated the Katsina Sustainable Platform for Agriculture (KASPA), a digital platform designed to connect farmers with experts, markets and suppliers to boost agricultural productivity.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the initiative is part of holistic strategy to improve agriculture by the state government.
Shettima also Inaugurated a 3.3 kilometre dual carriage road from Central Mosque Roundabout to WTC Roundabout in Katsina metropolis.(NAN)
