Confirmed reports say armed men in their numbers attacked Umutu police station, in Delta state, in the early hours of today May 28, 2021.
According to the Ag. Public Relation Officer of the command, DSP Edafe Bright, who confirmed the incident this morning, the attack took place at about 01:30 hours today, but the criminals who came with the intention of causing mayhem and cart away arms, were faced with stiff resistance by policemen on duty.
He noted that two police officers died during the shootout, another died of High Blood pressure in the hospital, while two of the gunmen were also killed but their bodies were taken away by other members of the criminal gang.
Members of the public were however assured that every measure has been put in place to arrest those responsible for this act, while they were enjoined to help with useful and timely information that could lead to arrests of the suspects.
