Akure, Aug.25, 2025 (NAN) A hotelier, Dr Olusuyi Adaramewa, Managing Director (MD)/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kamson’s Place, has called on government’s support to enhance Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMSE) in the country.

Adaramewa, who recently opened a guest house in Oba-ile, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, made the call while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Akure.

The CEO, who explained that SMSE’s contributed significantly to economic development, said governments needed to address critical infrastructure in the small businesses required.

“If the two issues of insecurity and power that are almost killing hospitality business are frontally addressed to a large extent, the country’s economy will grow and expand.

“Another one to be addressed is this issue of credit facility/soft loan because the small scale company or organisations are the drivers of the businesses globally.

“So, the moment the issues of insecurity and power are addressed and some related challenges are also addressed, the cost of doing business will go down and it will begin to affect SMSE’s positively.

“USA has less than 20 ministries and when you hear that the economy has grown in one month with 300,000 jobs, it’s not the ministry that does the magic but the SMSE’s,” he said.

Adaramewa, therefore, applauded President Bola Tinubu for signing the new tax reform into law, saying it would address some of the challenges facing SMSE in the country. (NAN)
