The House of Representatives has postponed the planned National security summit scheduled to hold on Monday, May 24, 2021.
This was announced in a statement issued today Sunday by the Clerk of the House, Chinedu Akubueze.
The National Security Summit scheduled for four days was conceived about a month ago, to take a holistic look at the security situation in the country.
The decision to move the summit, which would involve security and military formations in the country, is said to be in honour of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, and 10 other military personnel who died in a plane crash in Kaduna on Friday.
Akubueze, who noted that the security summit will now kick off on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, also expressed the House’s grief and sorrow of the families of the late top military officers, praying that the Almighty God will grant them eternal rest.
