The immediate past Secretary to the Ekiti Government and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has assured that he would not relegate party leaders across board, if given the opportunity to serve as governor.
Oyebanji, who assured that the party leaders will be treated with respect and be involved in decision-making process, assured that he will run an all-inclusive government that would be profitable to leaders, party members and all Ekiti citizens.
The APC aspirant said this on Friday in Otun, Ido, Ijero and Aramoko Ekiti on Friday during his consultative meetings with party leaders and members in furtherance of his governorship ambition in APC.
He described himself as a thorough-bred party loyalist, saying he has enormous respects for leaders.
“I have enormous respect for the party’s top hierarchy, because they own this party and the platform I want to use to contest.
“I believe in party and leadership. I will not be inaccessible to you as a governor. I will treat you with respect and honour, because this party belongs to you,” the APC aspirant said.
Oyebanji also assured that he will continue to advance the course of APC in Ekiti, being a party that had afforded him the platform to gain political relevance and prominence in the state.
Giving history of his sojourn into Ekiti politics, he said that he was appointed by former governor Niyi Adebayo and the incumbent governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, was not by accident.
He boasted that his appointments were products of his proven integrity, mettle, loyalty, honour and competence.
Oyebanji advised the party to act truly as unbiased umpires to all aspirants until the primary is conducted, describing this as the best way to unite the party and make it formidable for the 2022 guber poll.
“Please, do not discriminate against other aspirants. Give them the right acceptability. I am sure  you know who is the right man for the job by training and experience.
“If given the opportunity to become the governor, We will run an all-inclusive and profitable government that will be for all Ekiti people.
“That is my target and we shall collectively achieve this,” he said.
He also added, “If I get the APC ticket and win, I will start on a solid foundation laid by Gov. Fayemi and that would make running Ekiti not difficult for him.
Speaking, the former APC Chairman, Chief Jide Awe, said Ekiti remains the home of APC and that he has no reason to doubt that the people would embrace the party in the coming election.
Awe said he was particularly commandeered by the leaders of Ekiti West Local Government to lead Oyebanji to canvass votes for him for the party’s primary.
He said the council is proud of Oyebanji’s giant strides during his tenure as  the SSG of the state.
An APC Chief in Ido/Osi Local Government, Mr. Cyril Fasuyi, assured that the APC leaders in Ekiti North will support Oyebanji for him to get the party’s ticket at the primary. (NAN)
