Insecurity: Lalong has implemented 5 of 6 resolutions of Plateau Assembly – House Spokesperson

 The Plateau State House Assembly on Thursday said Gov. Simon Lalong had implemented five out of the six resolutions it gave him to address the security challenges bedeviling state.
Mr Philip Dasun(APC, Panshin South), House Committee Chairman on Information, who disclosed this to newsmen in Jos, said the governor was also working to satisfy the last resolution of the legislature.
“We gave a six-item resolution to the Executive Governor to act on within two weeks.
“He has so far been able to address five of the items; remains one that is ongoing.
“The conditions were for him to; visit Yelwa Zangam Community in Jos North and pay the hospital bills of those affected in the conflict.
“Visit to extend relief materials to the Rukuba Irigwe Communi
ty, Riyom, Bokkos and Mangu.
“Address people of Plateau on the security situation and show to people of Plateau renewed commitment and to improve the security situation in the State by engaging the advance security operatives.
“To also suspend the planned adhoc teachers recruitment and to replace it with the vigilante and local hunters.
“To implement the Anti Land Grabbing Law to enable those occupying illegal lands in Plateau to vacate such lands and native owners to take back their lands,” Dasun said.
The chairman said that while the governor had fulfilled five of the resolutions,  he had stopped the recruitment of adhoc teachers and was working on engaging vigilante and local hunters to assist in addressing the security situation in the state.
He called on the executive to expedite action on the formation of the Anti Land Grabbing Board to facilitate the process of land recovery.
He appreciated the people of the state for the confidence they reposed in the Assembly by way of showing support and encouragement.
“We thank the Federal Government for sending a team at different levels to facilitate peace in Plateau.
“We commend sons and daughters of Plateau both at home and in diaspora for the calls, motivations and prayers to the state.
“We also thank the youths in Plateau State for their doggedness and commitment to seeing that the conflict and trying moments are over and we also call on them to still have the will to stand for Plateau in all situations,” Dasun said.
He said the House remained resolute in its support of the leadership of the Speaker, Abok Ayuba, adding that the loyalty of members to him was unshakable. (NAN)
