The Independent Petroleum Markers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has dissolved its two factions in Yola and inaugurated a caretaker committee to run affairs of the association in the state.

Speaking during the inauguration, Alhaji Danladi Pasali, IPMAN’s National Secretary, said the action was based on the constitution of the association to restore peace and unity among members in Yola Depot covering Adamawa and Taraba.

According to him, Adamawa was the only state in the country with two factions, saying it was not right for the success of the association.

“The warring  factions in Adamawa have been officially dissolved and the caretaker committee was set up to reconcile the two factions to bring in peace in Yola Depot.

“Out of the 36 states in the country, Adamawa was the only state where we had two factions and the national body was so disturbed.

“It was time to dissolve the factions and have a peace committee to harmonize and bring all marketers together,” he said.

Pasali said that in the next few months, general election would be conducted for everyone to contest.

According to him, to ensure justice and fairness, members of the committee were drawn from the two factions.

He assured that with the caretaker committee,  peace would be restored in the depot.

Mr. Yakubu Suleiman, IPMAN ‘s National Public Relation Officer (PRO), also urged the committee to work hard towards promoting peace and harmony between the two factions.

Suleiman said it was good for the members to understand what happened in the past, and allow it to serve as a lesson for peace to reign in future.

In his remarks, Alhaji Gidado Hamman-Gari, Chairman of the Caretaker Committee, thanked and appreciated the association on the confidence reposed in them.

He solicited for the support and cooperation of the marketers for the success of the association.

Hamman-Gari assured to run an open-door policy and urged for prayers towards achieving the aims  of the association. (NAN)
