Lagos, Jan. 21, 2026(NAN) Harrison Jala, the Chairman, Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN) Task Force, has commended the organisation of the just concluded CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2025 in Morocco.
Jalla told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that AFCON 2025 was topnotch in his opinion, and that the Moroccans showcased world class facilities that could host any competition, including the world cup.
According to him, CAF had to quickly do an intense massive education of its federations, football fans and supporters while stamping its authority on the officiating.
“Decision by a referee is final in the game of football that is what the rule book says, every other opinion is immaterial.
“Federations, who feel aggrieved or otherwise should follow due process to lodge their complaints.
“African Football federations must do open and massive education of their fans not to use the social media to bring African Football to disrepute,” Jalla said.
He added that the unfortunate open disputations of decisions by referees almost marred the AFCON 2025, saying that was unacceptable.
Jalla said that, Africans must learn from their European counterparts that referees decisions are final.
‘it was a very competitive tournament and Super Eagles played well into the hearts of many to earn a third place finish.
“The players definitely would have loved to reach the finals but it did not happen, they just have to work harder in preparations for future competitions,”Jalla said.(NAN)
