An Upper Area Court in Ilorim on Wednesday ordered a middle-aged man, Hafeez Saheed to sweep the State High Court premises for one week.
The judges, Sunday Adeniyi and Hammad Ajumonbi gave the order after Saheed pleaded guilty to loitering .
The court held that the punishment was to ensure that the convict would desist from roaming about and causing public nuisance.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel , Insp. Rhoda Kayode told the court that Saheed was arrested while wandering around some shops and acting in a suspicious manner.
Saheed, who admitted that he was arrested while wandering around, said:” I don’t want people to know that I smoke. So whenever I want to smoke, I hide somewhere, remove my shirt and smoke.
”I don’t want my relatives to smell the cigarette smoke”. (NAN)
