The Kaduna State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting public infrastructure, warning that individuals involved in vandalizing critical national assets will be arrested and prosecuted.
The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr Sule Shuaibu, gave the warning on Friday during an inspection of the bridge linking Rabah Road in Kaduna North Local Government Area with Rigasa in Igabi Local Government Area.
Shuaibu said the visit was aimed at assessing the extent of damage allegedly caused by vandals to the bridge.
He described the destruction of public infrastructure as a threat to public safety and socio-economic development, stressing that the state government would not condone such acts.
According to him, the administration of Gov. Uba Sani has put in place measures to identify those responsible for vandalizing government assets and ensure they face the full weight of the law.
“The government remains committed to safeguarding critical infrastructure across the state and will continue to work with relevant security agencies to prevent acts of vandalism,” he said.
The commissioner appealed to residents to support government efforts by remaining vigilant and reporting suspicious activities around public facilities to security agencies.
He said protecting public assets was a shared responsibility, urging communities to take ownership of infrastructure provided for their benefit.
Shuaibu added that preserving government facilities would enhance service delivery and contribute to the state’s overall development. (NAN).
