There was pandemonium at the Audu Bako Secretariat in Kano as thugs allegedly hired by the state government to organize a rally in support of the recent fuel price hike openly disagreed over the sharing of the largesse after the event.
The federal government had last week introduced a new fuel price regime with a litre of the product selling at not more than N145.
The crisis began when the thugs, who were over 100, and were waiting to collect their payments, found that the money was handed over by the sponsors to somebody who was not their leader.
Our sources disclosed that each thug was was to benefit from state government’s than N30 million doled out for the rally, but what was given to the thugs to share was less to N1 million and the source Quick News africa that he can’t give me the exact figure the thugs shared, but the money approved by state government was above N30 million.
The rally was attended by the Kano State Commissioner of Information, Muhammadu Garba, Head of Service, Auwalu Naiyya the Executive Secretary of Kano Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abba Yakubu and many other top government officials.
When contacted by our correspondent, Mr. Garba declined comment on the matter, saying I can`t say anything about the matter.

The Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress in Kano, Kabiru Minjibir, said the congress was not involved in the organization of the rally, alleging that those invited were members of the National Youth Council.
