Katsina, Jan. 13, 2026 (NAN) Katsina United Football Club (FC), says it has enrolled more than 100 homegrown players drawn from Team B and that of Under-19 into the state government’s salary scheme,

The club’s Chairman, Alhaji Surajo Malumfashi, disclosed this to journalists in Katsina on Monday, following the completion of data capturing of all the players.

Malumfashi, who is also the Supervising Coordinator of the club, said that each of the players would receive nothing below N50,000 as a salary every month.

He also announced that the club had cleared a five month salary backlog for all the club’s newly recruited players and placed them on the salary structure.

The chairman stated that all the players, technical crew and backroom staff were being captured into the state salary structure and would be receiving their entitlements every month.

The club’s chairman further commended the state’s Commissioner for Sports, Alhaji Surajo Yazid-Abukur, for being firm to ensure the smooth running of the club.

He described the effort as commendable and motivational,  being it the first of its kind in the history of the state in football-related matters.

Malumfashi, therefore, restated his readiness to complement the gesture by continuing to guide the club to victories in both home and away matches. (NAN)
