Ilorin, July 30, 2025 (NAN) The Kwara government has flagged off construction of new offices to accommodate more civil servants and public functionaries for enhanced service delivery to the people.

Speaking at the handing over of the building site to the contractor, Mapet Construction Ltd, on Wednesday in Ilorin, Dr Segun Ogunsola, Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, dismissed insinuations that the project was for a new Government Lodge.

Ogunsola said that though the proposed structure was adjacent to the Deputy Governor’s Office, the project was planned to provide an adequate and befitting working environment for government functionaries.

“The one-storey project would comprise a conference room and several office spaces, among other facilities.

“The new offices will bridge existing gaps and meet the current trend of enhancing smooth running of the state and deepen democratic dividends for the people in both rural and urban areas.

“The ministry will ensure proper monitoring of the project, to ensure that a quality job is delivered within the given timeframe of one year,” he said.

The commissioner urged the contractor to work according to specification.

Also, Mr Awolola Tolulope, the representative of the contractor, said that the company had shown practical capabilities in the past and has a record of executing quality work within the agreed timeline.

He pledged that the company would deliver a good job in line with the one-year timeline. (NAN)
